HelpKidzLearn Hub is independently certified for COPPA, FERPA and CSPC and listed in SDPC, so you can teach with confidence.
At HelpKidzLearn, we understand the importance of creating a safe and secure online learning environment, especially when it comes to student data. That's why we prioritise robust data security measures and rigorous compliance with regulations like COPPA, FERPA, CSPC, and SDPC. This ensures that any information collected from students, including usernames, progress data, and profile names, is protected. We limit data collection to what's essential for platform functionality and provide clear control over information for parents and educators. Our unwavering commitment to data security gives you peace of mind, knowing your students can explore and learn with confidence.
To provide added assurance, the HelpKidzLearn Hub has again been independently assessed and certified by iKeepSafe for COPPA Safe Harbor, FERPA, and CSPC (California Student Privacy Certified). This renewed accreditation confirms our practices align with strict legal and industry standards. • What’s new this year: a fresh iKeepSafe review of our policies, safeguards and data flows, plus ongoing monitoring for the year ahead. • Outcome: continued compliance and a clear report you can share with colleagues and IT teams.
HelpKidzLearn Hub underwent a manual assessment, meticulously reviewing data practices and security protocols against security guidelines and regulations. Comprehensive documentation was submitted for iKeepSafe's expert review, detailing data collection, user agreements, and security measures. Optional penetration testing was conducted to identify and address vulnerabilities. Based on iKeepSafe's findings, we implemented a small number of necessary updates and are now ongoing regular monitoring to stay aligned with evolving regulations. This independent verification process demonstrates our commitment to exceeding the highest standards for data privacy compliance.
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a federal law in the United States that governs how websites and online services collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under the age of 13. COPPA requires websites to obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting any personal information from a child. With COPPA certification, teachers gain peace of mind knowing that the HelpKidzLearn Hub protects student privacy and complies with parental consent requirements.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law in the United States that protects the privacy of student educational records. FERPA grants parents certain rights regarding their child's educational records, including the right to inspect and review those records, and the right to request that any inaccurate or misleading information be corrected.
The California Student Privacy Certified (CSPC) goes beyond the federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) to encompass the stricter student data privacy regulations of California, specifically the California Student Privacy Alliance (CSPA) legislation (AB 1584). Earning CSPC certification demonstrates that the HelpKidzLearn Hub adheres to these comprehensive standards, providing an extra layer of assurance for parents and educators concerned about student data privacy in California.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a European Union law that regulates how organisations handle personal data of EU citizens. While not directly applicable in all countries, it sets a high bar for data privacy practices worldwide. For schools, GDPR is important because it governs how student information is collected, stored, and used. Compliance requires schools to obtain clear and verifiable consent from parents before collecting any student data, and students over the age of 13 have the right to access and delete their personal information. HelpKidzLearn Hub is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and adheres to the EU GDPR.
We are pleased to be recognised as “Approved for use / No Data Collected” in the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) Resource Registry for multiple states. With over 12,000 member school districts accessing this registry, schools can confidently use HelpKidzLearn knowing that no student data (PII) is collected.
HelpKidzLearn does not collect, store, or process any student information. Access to our learning content is always managed through the HelpKidzLearn Hub, which has been built with privacy and safety in mind at every step. Because we don’t handle or process student data, there’s no need for SOPPA-specific or district-specific privacy agreements.
