HelpKidzLearn Hub

Name of cookie Purpose
hkl.hub.long-session  Stores an encrypted reference that persists across single sign-on sessions and is used to retrieve the last used student profile. It is also used for concurrent licence use exploitation checks. No PII.

idsrv  The main authentication cookie used by Identity Server single sign-on to ensure end users don’t have to re-log when switching between products and services.
idsrv.session  In addition to the authentication cookie, IdentityServer will issue an additional cookie which defaults to the name “idsrv.session”. This cookie is derived from the main authentication cookie and is used for the check session endpoint for browser-based JavaScript clients at sign-out time. It is kept in sync with the authentication cookie and is removed when the user signs out.
ARRAffinity and ARRAffinitySameSite  Used by our internal load balancing. These cookies ensure that state is properly maintained for users across multiple back-end clones which are there to improve the availability of our services to customers. No PII. See Azure session affinity.
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.*  Used to ensure that data posted to our services is from the correct source and not from exploiting third parties attempting to compromise our systems/and or data. No PII. See Prevent Cross-Site Request Forgery (XSRF/CSRF) attacks in http://ASP.NET Core.
.AspNetCore.Cookies, .AspNetCore.CookiesC1, .AspNetCore.CookiesC2  ASP.NET Authentication cookie is used to identify the currently logged in user and grant access to protected parts of our online services.
ai_user  Used by Application Insights from Microsoft. Allows the collection of telemetry information for apps built on our Azure cloud platform. This is a unique user identifier cookie enabling counting of the number of users accessing the application over time. 
ai_session  Used by Application Insights from Microsoft. Allows the collection of telemetry information for apps built on the Azure cloud platform. This is a unique anonymous session identifier cookie.  
_ga, _ga_<container id>  Cookies used by Google Analytics: Tracks number of users, session statistics such as page views, approximate geo-location, browser and devices information. De-identified, No PII.
