At HelpKidzLearn, we know how important it is for schools and districts to feel confident that the digital learning tools they use meet strict standards for student data privacy. This includes the Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA).
The Student Online Personal Protection Act (SOPPA) is an Illinois state law that protects the privacy of students when their personal data is collected by educational technology companies. It requires service providers to handle data responsibly, keep it secure, and be transparent with schools and families.
HelpKidzLearn has been designed so students can access our activities safely without sharing any personal details. We do not collect, store, or process any student data (personally identifiable information, or PII). All access to our content is managed through the HelpKidzLearn Hub, which is built with privacy and safety in mind at every stage. Because SOPPA applies only to service providers that collect or process student data, it does not apply to our services.
Even though SOPPA does not apply to HelpKidzLearn, we know that schools and districts still need reassurance. That’s why we make our approach to privacy as open and transparent as possible. • HelpKidzLearn is approved in the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC) Resource Registry for Illinois • We hold iKeepSafe certifications for COPPA, FERPA, and CSPC, showing alignment with both federal and state-level standards • Our platform does not support student rostering through Clever or similar services • OIDC-based single sign-on (SSO) is available for administrator access
We encourage you to review our full privacy policy for more details on our COPPA compliance practices.
