Two playful additions have landed in Sensory Space’s Interact category. Say hello to Bubbles and Powder Pop.
Interact encourages cause and effect through repeated and flexible interactions, known as “press it again”. Every activation creates a clear response, and learners can ‘press’ as often as they choose using their access device. Several animations can occur together and then return to their starting point. This pattern rewards curiosity, strengthens cause and effect, and supports purposeful engagement at a comfortable pace.
Give learners an inviting space to explore and press it again at their own pace. Interact activities respond to every activation, so you can shape the experience to match attention levels, access needs and sensory preferences. 💜 Start with Bubbles for gentle movement or begin with Powder Pop for a more energetic feel. Ask learners to choose which to try first. 💜 Model a single activation and pause so the animation can play. Invite the learner to press again when the screen settles. 💜 Use short press bursts by encouraging several presses in a row to fill the screen, then pause together to watch everything return to its starting point. 💜 Build a simple routine. Add both activities to a Playlist. Repeat the same sequence across sessions so learners know what to expect and can focus on pressing purposefully. 💜 Celebrate success. Highlight each activation as a result to reinforce cause and effect.
These two new Interact activities come hot on the heels of our new Engage activities called Fireworks and Mosaic. Fireworks fills the screen with colourful bursts that bloom and fade. Mosaic gently shifts neon patterns like a moving kaleidoscope. Both are ideal for press and let go access and building attention.
You can personalise each activity by changing the colour schemes and the music to suit your learners. Choose high contrast, softer palettes or muted tones, and pair them with calming or quieter soundscapes to match sensory preferences. Sensory Space works with touch, switch and eye gaze, so you can use the same activity while adjusting the access method as control develops. It keeps participation consistent and confidence growing.
Sensory Space is a collection of interactive, online sensory activities created for learners with special educational needs. It runs on Windows, Mac, Chromebook and iPad, with full support for touch, switch and eye gaze. Flexible colour options and AI generated soundscapes help you tailor every experience to individual needs.
