How to Use the Toolkit in Your School.
Use the toolkit as part of your school’s transition support plan. • Before transition days: Introduce the activities to prepare children and talk about what they might see, do, and feel. • During visits or activities: Use the resources to support conversations and help children feel more comfortable in the new setting. • After visits: Revisit the activities to reinforce what was experienced and answer any questions or worries. • Leading up to the move: Create and share personalised ‘About Me’ profiles with new teachers or settings. • These flexible tools can be used in 1:1 sessions, small groups, or sent home to involve families in the transition process.
